There are times when I forget how truly exceptional this time and place in human history is. At this very moment I am installing Logos 4 on a new computer. In the time it will take to write and publish this post I am downloading more scholarship on the Bible than many monasteries and seminaries had access to in earlier times. It is easy to forget just how remarkable that really is.
Then I see something like the video I am embedding below. A village in Indonesia receives the Bible in their language for the first time ever. More compelling than the dancing and celebrations are the interviews and prayers. To see a people finally receive the Word of God in their own language is remarkable. I thank God both for the gift of this translation, but for the video which lets us share in their joy.
