I’m excited to hear that my senior Pastor Matt Carter will be speaking at the Advance 2010. His talk is titled Ecclessia Engaged: For the Joy of the City, which I assume is going to be an extension of our church’s philosophy of outreach to the city in order to make the gospel of Jesus Christ visible and to preach it to the lost.
I’m excited for this, not because of publicity for the church or for Matt, but because I believe deeply in our approach and I hope more churches consider a similar philosophy. Now, I know our leaders will certainly admit that we don’t have it all figured out, but what I love is the heart of our church for this city, not the specific plan. I’m praying for Matt and I hope the Spirit moves strongly in the hearts of those attending.
